After receiving her Honours Bachelor of Science degree, Kara-Lynne went on to study law at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. The most rewarding experience of her law school career was her involvement with the Parkdale Community Legal Clinic where she spent eight months in the Landlord and Tenant division representing low income individuals and families at what is now called the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board. Kara-Lynne also volunteered for the Family Law Project run by Pro Bono Students Canada in which she assisted unrepresented parties with drafting affidavits and other court forms at the Jarvis Street family court in Toronto.

Going into law school Kara-Lynne did not have a clear idea as to what area of law she wanted to practise. Her experiences at Parkdale and with the Family Law Project allowed her to realize that her passion was in helping people directly. She enjoyed the one on one contact with her clients and knew that this human element was essential to her professional happiness.

Kara-Lynne articled at a full-service firm in Orillia where she gained experience in a wide breadth of legal issues. It was there that she began to fully explore family law and quickly realized that this was the area where she felt most fulfilled. When she came across a listing for a Family Law lawyer at Galbraith Family Law she was immediately drawn to the sense of caring and compassion that Brian and his team exuded; she knew she had found her fit.

Kara-Lynne is enjoying the challenges of learning and growing in her career. She is dedicated to providing her clients with honest and informed advice and to helping them negotiate the best possible settlement of their issues. While Kara-Lynne is comfortable litigating matters, she has found that most cases can be settled without use of the court system. She encourages her clients to explore all other avenues of settlement before turning to court proceedings and is always eager to explain the most cost-effective options to her clients.

Kara-Lynne lives with her husband and their three beloved cats. She enjoys camping, nature photography, and participating in community theatre.

Kara-Lynne can be reached at KaraLynne@GalbraithFamilyLaw.com or 705 727-4242 ext 226.
