Prior to law, Théa attended the University of Western Ontario and completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. She spent a year working and travelling around Australia and Asia before heading to Eastern Canada to attend Dalhousie Law School in Halifax. Théa graduated law in 2008 with a specialization in Health Law and Policy. She was called to the bar in 2009. Théa began her legal career at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, a large national law firm in Toronto. While there she gained valuable skills defending hospitals and nurses at both the trial and appeal court levels, and representing hospital clients in the area of forensic mental health.
After practicing civil litigation at a large law firm, Théa made the decision to transition to family law, where she'd have the opportunity to spend more one-on-one time with clients. She left Toronto and returned to her roots in Orillia, where she now resides with her husband, daughter and Newfoundland dog.
Théa is a passionate advocate and works tirelessly to help her clients through the difficulties faced during a separation. She believes strongly in the benefits of negotiating family law disputes outside of court, whenever possible. Théa also practices Collaborative family law, and has completed training in levels I and II of Collaborative Team Practice.
Théa is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, Collaborative Practice Simcoe County, and Simcoe County Law Association. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, yoga, going on canoe trips and travelling. Her greatest joy is her family, and watching her beautiful daughter learn and grow.
