Home Equity up to separation date?

I’ve lived in the matrimonial home and paid all the mortgage and expenses since separating 5 years ago when spouse moved out. Trying to finalize a divorce now and spouse is asking for home equity up to the current date and not just up to the separation date. Does the Family Law Act specify that the equity is only calculated up to date of separation?
